1 John 3:1-3 was our scripture for this Sunday.

Did you know that God calls you His kid! Yep He does! He isn’t just some God that you’ve heard of or read about. In class we talked about knowing of someone who knows of someone who knows someone cool or famous. You know it’s like your cousins, brothers, aunts boyfriend knows Chuck Norris. It’s not like that with God. It’s not like “Oh yea I’ve heard of God the guy who spoke to Moses from a burning bush or the guy who made a giant fish swallow a guy and puke him up on the beach.” It’s true God did those things but you don’t just have to know God because of someone else’s experience. He calls you His kid and you can experience Him first hand! Just like a good father, He wants to be your EVERYTHING! He allows us to make our own choices. He would love it if you would choose to let Him be your EVERYTHING.

I am constantly searching the internet for new and creative ways to present the truth about Jesus Christ to Jr. High students. I came across the thetruthgroup.com which has given me many creative ideas. You might want to spend some time poking around on their website. There are some hilarious videos and some interesting links. If you’re not careful you might accidentally learn something in the process! Sunday Morning

Sunday mornings we’ve been going through the book of 1 John. Last Sunday we read in 1 John 2:28-29 where it talks about abiding in Christ. We decided that abiding is kind of like marinating. Just like a good steak or a piece of chicken in teriyaki sauce! It’s best if it’s soaked in the sauce for a very long time so it’s tender and tasty in the end. If we marinate in God and soak Him up through quiet time, being obedient to his Word and striving to live a life that’s pleasing to Him, we’ll have NO LAME EXCUSES when he returns for us.

Christmas Party Pictures

The 5th Annual Brink Christmas Party was awesome! We had a great turn out. The carne asada tacos from Los Montes were delicious as usual. You guys did a superb job decorating the Christmas cookies! The games were very entertaining the egg-nog chugging, human Christmas tree decorating and alpha-bet soup scrabble kept us ROFL all night! My favorite was the Spam-O-Rama-Christmas-House. You guys amazed us with your creativity, teamwork and narrative tour of your Spam-O-Rama-Christmas-Houses.

CREATIVE ARTS MEETS ON A DIFFERENT DAY NOW

Come check out our Creative Arts Ministry. We meet every at Thursday 6:30 pm at Grace Fellowship Church. This is open to Jr. High through adult. We have a great art teacher to help beginners as well as those more advanced. We work on special projects for the church and our community as well as exploring new, creative ideas. Over the summer we took part in the Italian Street Art Festival and will continue to look for events that we can be a part of. Come check it out!

The Voice Friday February 12th 6-9pm

“The Voice” is an open mic night where you can let your voice be heard, through music, art, video/audio, and various other creative skills. The stage is open to Jr. High thru College age. Everyone is welcome to come and watch.

If you would like to schedule a time slot to perform please contact us by emailing Jared Vierya at jvieyra.clc@gmail.com or Mike Bowerman at mikey256@gmail.com. We usually have a few time slots open for walk-in’s but it’s best if you can let us know ahead of time if possible.
